Benefits of Eagle Signal’s CT4 SERIES

Eagle Signal manufactures electronic timer, electromechanical timer, and other devices. Within the electromechanical family is the HQ4 series of percentage timers. Percentage timers are a type of repeat cycle device that is compact and long-lasting. The HQ4 series is a unique timer that can function as an on delay, off delay, interval timer or repeat cycle device. Eagle Signal offers this accurate, economical, enclosed timer for a wide range of applications. Specifically, those where repetitive ON times of a fixed cycle requires adjustability. This series is a panel mounted unit with an exposed dial. The load relays’ seal protects against the environment. The HQ4 proves to be durable in industries such as chemical, feeding, irrigation controls, electric heaters, and motor controls. Recently, Eagle Signal developed an improved version of the HQ4 Series called the Cycl-Time® or CT4 Series.

The CT4 offers improved features including resolution, potentiometer, ease of setting, torque, safety, sealings, and wiring. Also, the Cycl-Time®’s resolution is more defined. For example, the colors of the faceplate offer more contrast for reading the time settings. With 100 ticks around the dial rather than 50, the CT4’s percentage options are more precise than the HQ4. The torque of the Cycl-Time® dial is more resistant to change than before. Once the timer is set, it will not rotate any further without intentional force from the user. These features combine to make the timer more accurate and easier to set. Safety is always the greatest concern when designing any product. The Cycl-Time® has a plastic guard over the terminal block to protect the user’s fingers from exposure to contractors. This percentage timer is ideal for applications environmental factors would usually cause concern. These features provide a longer lasting product and additional safety. The wiring and electrical connections of the HQ4 was also updated for the CT4. It now has four electrical connections, rather than seven, all in a straight line on the back of the body of the timer. As mentioned before, this timer is made to panel mounted. Eagle Signal continues to design the most accurate, economical, and reliable products in the industry. The HQ4 and Cycl-Time® Series are both exceptional devices fit for their specific applications. Cycl-Time® proves to be a respectable replacement option to the HQ4 Series.

Image result for baumer flex flowWith their FlexFlow family of flow and temperature sensors, Baumer has expanded its process sensor portfolio. Based on the calorimetric measurement principle, the FlexFlow family can monitor both flow velocity as well as media temperature. The sensors have IO-Link and, depending on settings and connections, either two switching outputs or one switching and one analog output (4…20 mA/ 0…10 V). The PF20H and PF20S versions are suitable for hygienic and industrial applications.

The combination of two measuring functions in one sensor reduces the number of measuring points in closed systems and minimizes costs of installation, service, and storage. Thanks to their symmetrical, centered design, the sensors can be optimally installed in the process independent of their installation position and orientation. This guarantees precise measurements and process safety.

Several sensors can be simultaneously configured via IO-Link. This simplifies switching point adjustment for different process stages during setup or batch changeover and saves time. Diagnostic data polling and evaluation is possible at all times, increasing system uptime.
FlexFlow sensors have a robust stainless steel housing with integrated electronics and evaluation unit. Complex wiring and control cabinet assembly, as well as additional user interfaces, are therefore not required. This simplifies operation and allows efficient process management.

All models are temperature resistant to 150°C and thus CIP and SIP-capable.

Contrast sensors for print mark detection

Baumer’s new FKDK 14 contrast sensors for print mark detection are fast and accurate, making them the ideal, economical solution for print mark detection in packaging and printing machines. Utilizing white light as the light source, the FKDK 14 series can precisely detect print marks of all colors.
Optimized for high throughput speed, the new contrast sensor offers a response time down to 50 µs. This allows very short throughput times to be achieved.  At the same time, the contrast sensor is very compact and can be integrated easily into any machine. The 2-point teach-in procedure is simple and intuitive and can also be conducted dynamically during the process.
Since the light source is white light, the contrast sensor can reliably detect print marks of all colors, even with slight contrast to the background. The switching status is indicated with an LED, which is clearly visible through the transparent housing base of the contrast scanner.
The FKDK 14 is ideally suited for applications in packaging and graphic machinery. Providing an economical solution for print mark or printing plate detection, the FKDK 14 diffuse contrast sensor combines short response time and a compact housing with the unique white light source.

Inductive M12 sensor measures contact-free with 4 nanometer resolution

The resolution of Baumer’s IPRM 12 inductive sensor has been significantly improved. The sensor now measures with a resolution of up to 4 nm, which is to date unmatched in its class.
With this performance, it constitutes the ideal solution for monitoring concentricity and vibration of shafts or high precision measurements of manufacturing tolerances and deflections of shafts, leaf springs or levers.
All of the necessary electronics are integrated within its 90 mm short M12 housing. Compared to measuring systems with external evaluation unit this reduces acquisition costs and guarantees an easy integration into compact machines. At the same time, the sensor is one of the fastest sensors in its class with a measuring speed of 1 mm/s.
The IPRM 12 serves as a contact-free measuring system, which does not leave scratches or pressure points on delicately finished products. With its high performance, the sensor is a compelling alternative to complex measuring systems. The high linearity, as well as temperature stability, allow high precision measurements, a robust metal housing and protection class IP 67 equal high durability.
For various measuring tasks three differently configured sensor versions are available. Depending on the application they are optimized for high resolution and high linearity, high resolution in long-range sensing or an extended measuring range upon a minor temperature drift.
