Description
The LCS-III is a locomotive control system that builds upon the proven features of Accuspeedâ„¢ and Beltpackâ„¢ systems. It is designed for FRA-regulated railroad operations in the Americas and offers a technology stack that supports the future possibilities of remote control and automation in the railyard.
The LCS-III works with the OCU-III, which includes embedded GNSS location tracking, a patented method for pushing OCU position data to the RCL system. A wireless port accommodates future expansion and links to the internal archive record.
Dynamic speed control in the LCS-III streamlines the complexities of throttle and brake manipulation to maintain the selected speed regardless of track grade or train mass. At the same time, the operator focuses on train movements, track conditions, and personal safety. Two-way RF communication enables operators to control the locomotive safely. Train Brake Cycle Protection, Electric Handbrake Interface, Pullback, and Stopping Protection are optional features that can increase operator safety.
Cloud-based monitoring and analytics are available with RemoteIQ™ Rail. Operator productivity, wheel slip, speed violations, communication health, emergency brake incidents, and more can be tracked to help manage maintenance strategies and maximize performance. A live virtual dashboard provides timely and critical insights, and event-based alerts and notifications are emailed to on-site supervisors to optimize operations and keep assets and personnel safe.
Features:
OCU-III
Feature-rich operator control unit that includes an embedded GNSS location, a patented method for pushing OCU positional data to the RCL system, a wireless link to the internal archive record, and a Wi-Fi port to accommodate future expansion
Two-way RF Communication
The OCU has digital feedback in the form of LEDs and text messages
