Our solid-state, dual-axis, encapsulated inclinometer module provides two axes of inclination over both J1939 and discrete analog outputs simultaneously. The 4–20mA analog outputs can be scaled (over CAN) for each axis of inclination.
It is factory programmed for ±90°, 4–20 mA single axis vertical mount and ±45°, 4–20 mA dual axis flat (horizontal) mount running off of power between 9–30VDC. However, it’s programmable over CAN for 360° on the vertical axis and ±90° on the horizontal. External connections are made via 6″ of shielded cable terminated in flying leads coming out of the module.
Our standard version is factory programmed to switch dynamically between being a /-90deg single axis inclinometer (for boom position) with the 4-20mA output when mounted vertically (cable facing down), and a -45deg dual axis inclinometer (for platform leveling) with the dual 4-20mA output when mounted horizontally. Outputs are always available over CAN in parallel.
They’re a great fit for lots of different applications. They’re commonly used to measure boom angle, machine/platform level, bucket level, or as a basic, much more durable, and economical tilt switch. They’re aggressively priced as a standalone sensor and easily integrated into our larger control systems.
