   A very compact totalizing counter is available standard with an 8-digit LCD or 6-digit LED display. Choose from self-powered models containing a 7-year lithium battery or models accepting an external 12 – 24 VDC power supply. Externally powered units utilize a nonvolatile RAM to keep counted data during the absence of power.

Easy field programming allows an interface to PNP or NPN count signals, or you may choose a model that directly accepts high voltage (12-250 VAC/ DC) AC or DC pulses.

LED models are available with an optional factory-programmed preset limit (preset count specified when ordered) and feature a transistor output that can perform control functions or interact with a PLC. A 6-character alphanumeric message (characters derived from a seven-segment pattern) can be programmed to appear when the preset count value is reached.

1490 Vary Tally Counter Replacement:
This series as a whole has been obsoleted without a direct replacement.
However, we can offer a possible close alternate in one of our electronic counters, the C342-0464, accompanied by some externally wired push buttons.  
 
The C342-0464 is a Self-Powered LCD Display totalizer that can accept a push button input as the count input.
To have this unit set up similarly to the Vary Tally series, a C342-0464 can be purchased, set to a low-speed NPN input for the count input programming and a push-button can be wired in externally for 
the count input of the unit.   
Although the size of the C342 is larger than that of the Vary Tally series, several of these units can be purchased, mounted together, and have a push button wired into them to mimic the setup of the former Vary Tally series. Each press of the push button will add a count value to the digital readout of the C342 unit, allowing for a push-button actuated totalizer similar to that of the Vary Tally series.
